The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Karanfil Group, Morteza Karanfil, praised the great opportunities offered by the health sector in Libya.

This came in his talk about the opening of the Turkish-Libyan Hospital in Misurata in late November.

Karanfil, who is the head of the Turkish-Libyan Business Council, added that they deliberately opened the aforementioned hospital in Libya specifically, and not in other African countries, stressing that “this step comes as a token of fulfillment” for the Turkish-Libyan relations.

The Turkish businessman pointed out that the Libyans are deprived of the necessary health services, and that the opening of the Turkish-Libyan Hospital in Misrata came to fill this need.

He stressed that the health sector in Libya includes great opportunities, indicating that Libya can be a health center for the African continent.

On the Turkish experience in the health sector, Karanfil said that his country has made great strides in this field, citing the sector’s performance during the coronavirus pandemic.

He stressed that the Turkish health sector has reached a superior level that cannot be measured with its counterpart in Europe, as he put it.

Regarding the details of the Turkish-Libyan hospital, Karanfil said that it was built on an area of 7,000 square meters, and it is scheduled to include, later, a college of medicine and a hospital specializing in oncology.

He added that the hospital includes 13 departments and 4 operating rooms, with a total capacity of 120 beds.

The Turkish-Libyan hospital is scheduled to operate throughout the day.
