Last October, Turkish exports increased by 3 percent compared to the same period last year, recording $21.328 billion.
Foreign trade data published by the Statistical Institute on Tuesday showed that the volume of imports also rose during the same period by 31.4 percent, recording $29.202 billion.
The foreign trade deficit increased by 421.7 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year, amounting to $7,874 billion.
As for exports in the period from January to October, they increased by 15 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 209 billion and 394 million dollars, while imports increased by 39.4 percent to reach 300 billion and 443 million dollars.

The foreign trade deficit increased during the same period by 168.3 percent to reach 91.49 billion dollars.
