The consumer price index in the Turkish market rose last July by 2.37 percent on a monthly basis compared to June.

According to data from the Turkish Statistics Authority released on Wednesday, inflation rose on an annual basis last July by 79.6 percent.

The consumer price index in Turkey measures the changes that occur in the general level of prices by tracking a basket that includes all consumer goods and services.

The authority said in a statement that the producer price index during July rose by 5.17 percent on a monthly basis, while it rose by 144.61 percent on an annual basis.
