On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the opening ceremony of a number of projects in the southeastern province of Mardin.
Among the projects for which mass opening ceremonies were held in Mardin are the “Irrigation of Derik Plain” project, the “Medyat-Nusaibien” road, the extension of the natural gas network to the districts of “Amrli” and “Dhar Ghajit” and other completed projects.
In a speech during the ceremony, President Erdogan announced the change of the name of Mardin Airport to Mardin Airport “Aziz Sinjar”, the Turkish scientist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

President Erdogan pointed to the acceleration of oil exploration activities in Mardin as well as in the rest of the provinces.
In this context, he referred to the opening of 3 oil wells in Mardin today.
