Turkey… “Defense Industries” is developing local engines

The Turkish Defense Industries Presidency is conducting a number of projects to develop local engines for its industries.

According to information, the Defense Industries Presidency has launched several projects to develop engines for a local air and land mechanisms in light of a new roadmap it has set in this regard.

The presidency’s projects are divided into two main axes: the development of “internal combustion engines” and “turbine engines”.

With regard to internal combustion engines, there are several projects for the development of engines ranging from 170 hp used in the “Anka” aircraft, and 1500 hp used in the Altai tanks.

The presidency also conducted the final tests on the BD170 engines, which can be used in the Aksongor and Anka drones.

On the other hand, projects to develop these engines and increase their power continue in order to be used in other aircraft.

Projects to develop engines for the Hedgehog 2 and Cheetah armored vehicles are also continuing.

With regard to turbine engines, several projects are underway to develop different engines ranging from rocket engines to domestic combat aircraft.

The development of the KTG-3200 engines, which will be used in the Atomaja and Sum missiles, has been completed, and final tests are expected to take place at the end of this year.

Projects to develop TS1400 engines, which will be used in Gokbay helicopters, as well as projects to develop engines for domestic combat aircraft are also continuing.
