According to figures announced by the Turkish Statistics Authority on Tuesday, the volume of real estate sales to foreigners in June increased by 81.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
The figures reveal that Russian citizens topped the list of real estate purchases with 1,887 housing units, then Iranians with 987, and Iraqis with 807.
In the same month, Turkey in general witnessed the sale of 150,509 housing units, an increase of 22.6 percent compared to last May, and an increase of 11.7 percent compared to June last year.

The city of Istanbul recorded the largest number of real estate sales to foreigners in April with 27,998 housing units, then the capital, Ankara, 13,303, and Izmir 8,243.
