The volume of trade exchange between Turkey and the United States hit a record high last year at $28 billion.

According to data from the US Census Bureau, trade exchange between Turkey and the United States increased by 30 percent during 2021.
The volume of Turkey’s exports to the United States amounted to 16 billion dollars, while its imports from the latter amounted to 12 billion dollars.
Thus, Turkey recorded a surplus of 4 billion dollars in foreign trade with the United States.
The United States ranked second among the countries importing the most from Turkey in 2021.
Trade exchange between the two countries continued its momentum during the first month of 2022.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Council, Turkish exports to the United States amounted to about one billion and 91 million dollars during last January.
Thus, the United States, along with Germany, became one of two countries to which Turkish exports exceeded one billion dollars last month.
