After reducing the restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus and the resumption of flights, foreign tourists traveled to Turkish tourist cities, especially Antalya, as one of the most important tourist destinations in the world, to spend their summer vacations.
In the first eight months of this year, 1,557,737 tourists from 162 countries traveled to Antalya, the capital of tourism in Turkey, and the tourism sector boomed significantly after Eid al-Adha. Where 798,524 foreign tourists were registered in August.
Russia is the main market for the tourism sector in Antalya. Whereas, during the past eight months, the Turkish city received 483,790 tourists from Russia, of whom 336,409 were only in August.
And Ukrainian tourists ranked second for foreign tourists in Antalya. 172,118 Ukrainian tourists traveled to the city in August.
Germany and the United Kingdom are also important markets for tourism in Turkey. As it received 115,080 tourists from the United Kingdom during the first eight months of the year.
In addition, the tourist city of Antalya is an important attraction for Polish, Belarusian, Moldovan, Dutch, Swiss, Romanian, Serb and French tourists, who in their turn have also achieved the largest number of trips to the Turkish city.
