Media reports have reported that WhatsApp transmits data (personal information of its users) to the FBI every 15 minutes.

In a document published on its website, the organization indicated that WhatsApp sends metadata about account actions with a 15-minute delay to the FBI.

At the request of the office, the intelligence services receive information from “WhatsApp” installed on iPhones if the conversation archive is saved in the iCloud cloud.

It is noteworthy that under a court decision or in the event of a search warrant, law enforcement officers are entitled to receive a list of banned WhatsApp users of the person of interest.

By doing so, the FBI can obtain information about the user’s contacts and about the people who have been registered in the contacts list.

A classified FBI document that was leaked revealed how much data it can legally obtain from messaging apps.

It became clear from the document that iMessage and WhatsApp were the most lenient in this regard, while Signal and Telegram did not provide much personal data.

“There are a lot of messaging apps being used around the world, and many of these apps offer a great deal of security and respect the privacy policies of their users.

On the other hand, there are applications that violate our privacy in some way, so we share our data with third parties or collect it to sell it to advertisers.

This is under the pretext of displaying more accurate and targeted ads to users, but after the disclosure of this leaked document.

Which shows how much data the FBI can legally get from these apps.

We now know that sometimes our data is collected not just for ads.”

Rolling Stone magazine obtained this leaked document from the FBI.

Which shows exactly what kind of information the office can get from the various messaging applications with an order from the office or a subpoena.

WhatsApp, iMessage and Line are all serving “limited” message content in response to a legal request from the FBI.

Signal, Telegram, Threema, Viber, WeChat and Wickr do not disclose any of the content of the messages.

The document indicated that the amount of data being shared by WhatsApp and iMessage with the FBI does not stop there.

If we are using an iPhone and we backup our WhatsApp messages to iCloud.

We should know that the FBI is able to obtain the content of our messages, as Apple is required to hand over the iCloud encryption key by submitting a search warrant.

iMessage provides only “basic” subscriber information through a subpoena.

But after obtaining a court order, a search warrant can also be obtained for the backup copies of the target’s device and to see the messages.

In case the target person is using iCloud backups for iMessage.

Telegram and Signal have stricter limits on what can be legally handed over to the FBI.

For example, Telegram does not provide the content of messages and contact information at all, and the document states that the Telegram application may, however, disclose IP addresses and phone numbers to authorities for “confirmed” terrorist investigations.

Signal also does not give the content of the messages, but it does give the date and time the user registered with the service and the last date the platform was connected.

Most of this information is not new to some, but the document gives users a better idea of how these applications compare to each other.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday denied accusations that his company put profit over users’ safety and well-being.

Emphasizing that it has created several platforms for safety, entertainment, and the fight against harmful content.

Zuckerberg published a memo on his Facebook page today, in which he said, “The recent accusations about putting profits at the expense of health, safety, and entertainment are incorrect… and do not reflect the company we know.”

The release of the memo follows a hearing by a US Senate committee on Tuesday in which it questioned a former Facebook employee.

It had leaked documents accusing the company of fueling divisions and negatively affecting mental health in favor of profitability.

The founder of the social media giant said: “Many of the allegations are meaningless … if we are to ignore any harm to our platforms.

So why do we care about fighting harmful content, and why do we hire so many more people dedicated to it.”

“If we want to hide our results and research, why have we set an industry-leading standard for transparency and reporting on what we do?” he added.

The former employee, Frances Hogan, had leaked internal documents dating back to 2019 and indicated that Facebook and Instagram were fueling division and affecting mental health.

“The argument that we are deliberately promoting content that makes people angry for the sake of profit makes absolutely no sense,” Zuckerberg said.

We make money from ads, and advertisers tell us they don’t want their ads to show next to malicious or angry content.”

Regarding the downtime of Facebook and its affiliate platforms, he said, “We have spent the past 24 hours debriefing how we can strengthen our systems against this kind of failure… This was also a reminder of how important our work is to people.”

On Monday, the “WhatsApp”, “Facebook” and “Instagram” applications witnessed a malfunction in some regions of the world, and it lasted for several hours before gradually returning to work.

“This is an issue that shows the world how fragile and erratic global social media companies are.

It has been shown that it can be quickly and easily restricted and that disruption in social media can cause irreparable harm to an individual and society.

In addition to focusing more on local, national, and trusted programs, it is now essential to ensure that global social media channels operate in a specific and trusted system without jeopardizing individual freedoms.

And it has been reported that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will be released on iOS devices.

The new feature will also help users who do not want to listen to long voice messages on the platform.

A notification will also be received from the platform when the voicemail decoder is used for the first time.

The notification will state that the conversation data will be sent from WhatsApp to Apple to process the request.

After the app has accepted access to speech data, the transcription service can be tried from the new Text-to-Speech section of the app.

WhatsApp also ensures that no moderators read your decrypted messages.

The first time the message is copied, the result will be saved to the application database.

The social media giant Facebook has apologized, explaining that the blocking of Canadian users from their pro-Palestine posts “was due to a technical glitch.”

Facebook Canada announced that the problem was caused by a “technical glitch” after some users complained that their posts about violence in Palestine had disappeared or their opinions had been deleted in the past few weeks.

The company apologized for the issue affecting users from sharing information.

The Gaza government was also blamed on social networks: accounts sharing Palestine were closed.

“This mistake should never have happened,” the statement said. “It is designed to give everyone a voice and keep them safe in our practices, and we apply these policies equally to who they are.”

On the other hand, there was no information on whether the pro-Israel broadcast or any other Middle Eastern content was affected by this issue.

The politician who spread the Palestinian flag on social media was expelled in Austria.

Speaking to CBC, Palestinian supporters claimed that their posts on their social media accounts had disappeared, and that Facebook had banned content related to the recent violence.

Despite all the obstacles, social media users who support the events in Palestine with their publications have greatly contributed to the formation of public opinion in the world.

Those who have mobilized followers on social media sites such as Facebook have recently announced restrictions on their pro-Palestinian posts.

On Friday, Facebook announced the suspension of the account of former US President Donald Trump for two years, starting from the date of its suspension on January 7.

Facebook’s decision came after the company’s oversight board criticized the decision to ban Trump’s account “indefinitely”, which prompted it to set a timetable for his possible return, according to the American newspaper “Politico”.

“Given the seriousness of the circumstances that prompted Trump’s account to be suspended,” said Nick Clegg, the company’s vice president for global affairs.

We believe his actions constitute a flagrant violation of our rules, and deserve the maximum penalty available under the new protocols.”

“Therefore, we have decided to suspend Trump’s account for a period of two years, starting from the date of the initial suspension on January 7,” he added in a statement.

After the two years are up, the statement said, “experts will assess the conditions to see if Trump will be allowed to return.

If we determine that there is still a serious public safety risk, we will extend the ban for a specified period of time, and will continue to reassess until the risk has subsided.”

On January 7, Facebook decided to ban Trump’s account for “inciting violence that led to the bloody riots in the Capitol Building” on January 6, according to a statement issued by the company’s oversight board.

It is reported that the Twitter platform also banned Trump’s account permanently last January, for the same reason.
