The rafting season has begun on the Melin River in northern Turkey, with the water flow just right.

The Melin River is located in DÜZCE, which has one of the most important tracks for this sport in Turkey.

Adrenaline lovers lowered their boats into the water in the “Doguz Dagerman” region, to live the adventure on the 15-kilometer course in the bosom of nature.

Birol Tepe, rafting representative in DÜZCE province, said that the season started with the river’s water flow reaching the required level.

He expressed their aspiration to host 250,000 visitors to practice rafting this year.

The World Karate Championships for juniors, youth and under-21 years kicked off on Wednesday in Konya, Turkey.

The tournament will take place in the Karatay International Sports Hall, and the Turkish team includes 39 players, including 18 females.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, October 30.

Turkish Reza Kaya Alp won the gold medal in the World Roman Wrestling Championships in the 130kg category, defeating his Iranian competitor, Amin Mirzazadeh.

And that Gaia Alp won the championship held in the Serbian capital Belgrade, to win the gold on the fourth day of the competition.

With this victory, Kaya Alp is the most Turkish man to win the World Roman Wrestling Championship for the fifth time.

In turn, Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoglu congratulated Kaya Alp on his achievement of the gold medal in the World Roman Wrestling Championship.

He expressed his pride in winning and thanked all the Turkish athletes who contributed to raising their country’s flag high.

Turkish wrestlers have won 134 medals in various international competitions in which they have participated since the beginning of this year.

The Turkish Wrestling Federation said in a statement on Tuesday that the 134 medals were won by the players during the European and world competitions, and most recently in the Islamic Solidarity Games hosted by Konya, central Turkey.

He added that the medals of Turkish wrestlers varied between 31 gold, 31 silver and 72 bronze.

The statement indicated that the participation of Turkish wrestlers included all levels and groups for the mentioned sport.

He stated that the Turkish national team is scheduled to participate in the adult wrestling championship in Serbia between September 10-18.
