The countdown has begun for the cable car line to enter service in the tourist city of Sapanca, in the state of Sakarya, northwestern Turkey.

Work on the line, which includes two stations and 36 cabins, began in 2018 and is expected to enter service on June 15.

The 1,500-meter-long cable car line allows you to see the stunning landscapes full of shades of green and the blue waters of Lake Sapanca.

In a press statement on Saturday, a member of the board of directors of the “Sapanca Cable Car” company executing the project said that the city of Sabanga is a prominent tourist destination.

He believed that the cable car would increase the number of tourists coming to the area.

He explained that the cable car will provide a better view of the beauty of the area, which is famous for its lake.

In turn, the technical director of the company, Ibrahim Qaraqosh, said that the line includes two stations, 9 cable car poles and 36 cabins.

He noted that the cable car line will allow passengers to view the city and its lake from different angles and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Saturday that about 60 percent of wars and crises around the world are located in Turkey’s vicinity.

Çavuşoğlu added that these wars and crises made it imperative for Turkey to pursue a humanitarian and proactive foreign policy.

The Turkish Oil Company (TPAO) announced on Monday that the Fatih ship had started drilling for gas in the Sakarya field in the Black Sea.

The company said on its Twitter account: “The exploration vessel, Fatih, has begun drilling work in the Amasra-2 well in the Sakarya field off the coast of the Black Sea.”

“We continue at full speed with our energy work in Turkey,” she added.

On October 17, 2020, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the discovery of an additional 85 billion cubic meters of natural gas, bringing the total gas reserves discovered in the Sakarya field to 405 billion cubic meters.

The teams of the Turkish Petroleum Transport Company “BOTAŞ” completed the construction of the station for measuring the quantities of natural gas extracted from the Sakarya field in the Black Sea and its land transportation line.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on Tuesday, efforts are continuing to link the natural gas discovered in the Black Sea with the national system by the local oil company “TPAO” and “BOTAŞ”.

The statement added that the local natural gas will be transported by special pipelines to the Velios gas processing center in Zonguldak state (north), and then it will be linked to the national system, and then delivered by “BOTASH” to citizens’ homes.

Turkey announced in late 2022 the discovery of an additional 170 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Black Sea, bringing the total volume of discoveries to 710 billion.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the total value of natural gas reserves discovered by Turkey in the Black Sea amounts to about one trillion dollars, according to current prices.

The Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the number of injuries resulting from the earthquake that struck Duzce in the northwest of the country on Wednesday has increased to 46, in addition to the material damage.

AFAD said in a statement that the data of the Ministry of Health indicated that 37 of the injured were residents of Duzce, 6 from Zonguldak, and the rest from Istanbul, Sakarya and Bolu.

The statement added that Duzce witnessed 96 aftershocks after the main earthquake, which had a magnitude of 5.9, and was felt by residents of Istanbul and neighboring states.

According to “AFAD”, the earthquake occurred at 04:08 (01:08 GMT) in the “Gol Yaqa” district of Duzce, at a depth of 6.81 kilometers below the surface of the earth.

And that the earthquake led to the collapse of a shop in Duzce and damaged about 8 buildings, including the Justice Palace.

He pointed out that the violent tremor also led to the fall of goods and items in some shops and homes to the ground.

An aftershock also occurred while photographing the damaged shops.

A large number of citizens spent the night outside their homes due to the panic sparked by the earthquake.
