On Wednesday, the Turkish authorities arrested 156 irregular migrants in the northwestern state of Qarqlareli, and arrested 6 people on charges of organizing an irregular crossing.

Gendarmerie teams set up checkpoints in several areas of the state as part of combating irregular migration.

During the performance of their tasks, the teams were able to seize 156 migrants from Syria and Afghanistan who were on board 6 vehicles.
