Turkish Justice and Development Party spokesman Omer Çelik said that the attack on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s approach to Palestine is “unfounded and unfair.”

Çelik confirmed on the “X” platform that President Erdogan’s clear position on the issue of Palestine and Jerusalem and his solidarity with the Palestinians in the occupied territories is “an indisputable fact.”

He pointed out that President Erdogan’s diplomatic efforts to stop the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7 and his tireless efforts at various levels are known to the entire world.

He pointed out that Erdogan “is the only leader who has expressed his opposition before the eyes of world leaders to those who describe the Palestinians who are resisting for their land and rights as terrorists, and history has recorded this position for him.”

He added: “Our president received the appreciation of the Palestinian people and leaders on every occasion for this approach and actual support.”

He added: “Because of his consistent approach towards Palestine, our president is being targeted by prominent names in the network of massacre perpetrators and the government of (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.”

He continued, “Despite all the attacks he was subjected to throughout his political career, our president did not give up defending the Palestinian cause, even for a single moment.”

He added: “Our president considers the Palestinian issue one of the basic elements of our national policy, and attacks on his position on Palestine are baseless, unfair, and have no justification.”

He stressed that “President Erdogan, as the voice of the Turkish people and the global conscience, is the strongest supporter and defender of the Palestinian cause and the oppressed people of Gaza.”

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left tens of thousands dead and wounded, most of them children and women, according to Palestinian sources, which necessitated Tel Aviv’s trial before the International Court of Justice on the grounds of “genocide.”

Turkish Justice and Development Party spokesman Omer Celik said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are “absolutely nonsensical,” and pointed out that Netanyahu committed “the most brutal aggression in history” against civilians in Palestine without any discrimination.

“Netanyahu will be remembered with the hatred he deserves and one day he will be held accountable before the law for the war crimes he committed against humanity and the attempted genocide of Palestinians,” Celik said in a blog post on social media on Thursday.

He added: “The war that Turkey is waging against terrorism is the most legitimate battle in the world and is taking place within the framework of the law. Turkey’s war against terrorism is fully consistent with all the rules of international law. It is a battle against terrorist organizations that are hostile to humanity.”

He stated that “Israel’s occupation of Palestine is the longest in history and includes the most planned and systematic massacres.”

He continued: “While our president addresses the entire world in the name of human values and human conscience, Netanyahu represents all kinds of anti-human actions.”

He stressed that Turkey “will continue its solidarity with innocent children, women, civilians and the elderly in Palestine and will continue to struggle for the Palestinians to obtain their legitimate rights.”

The ongoing Israeli war against the Gaza Strip since last October 7 until Thursday left 21,320 dead and 55,603 injured, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the Strip authorities and the United Nations.

The spokesman for the Turkish Justice and Development Party (ruling) Omer Celik strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, under the protection of the police.

“We strongly condemn the attack carried out by an anti-Islam group in Denmark against our holy book, the Quran,” he said in a tweet on Saturday.

Celik considered the attack on the Holy Quran “a clear hate crime.”

He pointed out that the silence of the Danish authorities regarding provocations against Islam and Muslims is tantamount to “supporting these hate crimes.”

On Friday, a Danish far-right anti-Islam group burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen.

The members of the group calling itself “Danske Patrioter” (Danish Patriots) raised anti-Islamic banners and chanted slogans insulting to it.

It is noteworthy that the group had previously attacked the Holy Quran and the Turkish flag in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen

The spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey, Omer Celik, said that the Greek authorities’ systematic policy of removing the identity of Ottoman Turkish antiquities is an insult to the common cultural heritage of humanity.

In a post on social media on Wednesday, Celik condemned the Greek authorities’ disrespect for spiritual centers, mosques and the graves of martyrs.

He affirmed their refusal to convert the “Murad Reis” complex on the island of Rhodes, which includes a mosque, hospice and a cemetery dating back to the Ottoman era, into a music college.

He added, “They should be ashamed of practices that target the graves of our martyrs. We in Turkey have considered many Greek Orthodox churches as a common heritage of mankind, and have restored and opened them for worship.”

“On the other hand, we see Greece taking a brutal approach to the common heritage of humanity and brutally attacking our common cultural heritage,” he added.
