The Turkish company “HAVELSAN” for defense systems and information technology has signed cooperation agreements with two companies and a Malaysian university in various fields.

This came on the sidelines of the Langkawi International Aeronautics and Space Exhibition “Lima 2023” held on the Malaysian island of Langkawi, which is the largest and widest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.

HAVELSAN and Ventura IOT Sdn Bhd have signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of critical infrastructure and facility security.

HAVELSAN and G7 Aerospace Sdn Bhd also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on projects for the Air Force.

The Turkish company and the Malaysian National Defense University signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of command control, simulation systems and cybersecurity.

“Many ministers and the Prime Minister (Anwar Ibrahim) visited our booth. We signed some goodwill agreements together,” said HavelSan General Manager Muhammad Akif Najjar.

“We are looking forward to more Southeast Asia,” he added.

He continued, “We added a new agreement to the existing agreements with Indonesia in the field of war management systems.”

Turkish defense industry companies are preparing for a strong participation in the Langkawi International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition “LIMA 2023”.

The exhibition will start tomorrow, Tuesday, and will continue until May 27 in the Malaysian island of Langkawi.

The exhibition, which is the largest and widest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, is attended by Turkey for the second time since it was launched for the first time in 1991.

18 Turkish defense industries companies are participating in the aforementioned exhibition, in addition to official participation by the Defense Industries Authority of the Presidency of the Republic and the Turkish Defense and Aerospace Exporters Association (SSI).

It is scheduled that Turkish companies will display their latest products of armored vehicles, both air and land drones, weapons and ammunition systems, and other various defense industry products.

In return for the favor, the Malaysian doctor, Brigadier General Imran Amir Hamza, continues to treat those affected by the double earthquake that struck southern Turkey on February 6, in a field hospital located in the state of Adi Yaman.

Doctor Hamza graduated from the “Gulhane” Military Academy of Medicine in the capital, Ankara, in 1989, and decided to come to Turkey voluntarily after the earthquake.

After the earthquake, 110 health workers from the Malaysian army arrived in the city, where they are providing health services in a field hospital set up in the Chelikhan area in the state of Adi Yaman.

His command of the Turkish language contributed to Dr. Hamza taking close care of the patients, accompanied by his team of 13 doctors, 16 specialists, and 81 nurses and technicians.

Hamza confirmed that he felt deep sadness after hearing the news of the earthquake, indicating that Turkey had witnessed a great disaster.

He said, “We went by two planes to here directly after the earthquake in Turkey and set up a field hospital in Celikhan. We are 110 people who came here in order to return the favor and out of loyalty.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the victory of the coalition he leads in the elections and his appointment as prime minister.

This came in a phone call Thursday, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency Communications Department.

President Erdogan expressed his confidence that the close cooperation between Turkey and Malaysia will be strengthened in the coming period on the basis of mutual trust.

Earlier in the day, King Abdullah of Malaysia appointed Rayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Al-Khamis Anwar Ibrahim as the new prime minister.

And the government agency “Bernama” stated that the submission of the document of appointment and taking the constitutional oath will take place this evening in Istana Negara, the King’s residence in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez intends to participate in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference “ADIPEC”.

The Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources said in a statement on Monday that Donmez will participate in the conference, which begins today and continues until November 4.

The Turkish minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at a seminar for ministers on the second day of the conference on the effects of the international energy crisis and proposed solutions.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop met with his Malaysian counterpart Azhar Azizan Harun in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Monday met with the Director-General of the Malaysian Maritime Law Enforcement Agency, Rear Admiral Muhammed Zobel Matt Som.
