A ceremony to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the death of the Sufi Jalal al-Din Rumi, known as “Mawlana,” began Thursday in the central Turkish state of Konya, under the slogan “Time for Reconciliation.”

In his speech during the opening of the ceremony, Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu said, “The time has come to feel, live and share Mawlana’s messages of eternal love and unity more closely.”

He added: “The 750th anniversary of our Lord’s death gives us the opportunity to remember his teachings that saved our world from being a dark world under the influence of wars, conflicts and disputes, and brought light and peace to this day.”

He added: “Our Lord is a global thinker who contributed to spiritual wealth not only in our geography but in the entire world. His teachings laid the foundations of love, tolerance, unity and peace and addressed humanity in a universal language.”

Mawlana Jalal al-Din al-Rumi is one of the most important Sufis in Islamic history. He established a Sufi order known as Mawlawīyah, wrote many poems, established the Mathnawi doctrine in poetry, and wrote hundreds of thousands of verses of poetry about divine love and philosophy.

Al-Rumi was born in the city of Balkh in Khorasan on September 30, 1207, and was nicknamed the Sultan of the Knowing because of his breadth of knowledge and knowledge. He settled in the Turkish city of Konya until his death on December 17, 1273, after he traveled seeking knowledge in a number of cities, the most important of which was Damascus.

Jalal al-Din al-Rumi was a great example of tolerance, following the teachings of religion. He was surrounded by people from other religions and sects, and he set an example of tolerance for them and acceptance of their opinions and ideas. Everyone who followed his doctrine believed that all religions were good and all true.

The Tropical Butterfly Garden in Konya, central Turkey, has attracted more than 3 million visitors since its opening in 2015.

The park, which is visited by local and foreign visitors, is the only one of its kind in Turkey and the largest of its kind in Europe.

The park located in Selcuk district of Konya is known to have the largest butterfly flight area in Europe.

The area of the aforementioned park is 7,600 square meters, and the area allocated for walking is 3,500 square meters.

The Butterfly Garden, which has a tropical atmosphere, includes 20,000 butterflies from 40 species, in addition to 195 species of plants.​​​​​​

The park supervisors are keen to keep the temperature at 28 degrees Celsius and the humidity at 80 percent.

The park’s chief biologist, Turgut Tosh, explained that the park attracts visitors from all over Turkey and foreign tourists.

In a statement Thursday, Tosh said: “Since its opening in July 2015, the park has hosted more than 3 million visitors.”

Tourists from all over the world come to the state of Konya in central Turkey as an important stop on the cultural tourism map, and it also attracts visitors with its caves of stunning beauty.

Among these caves is the “Tinaztepe” cave, described as a “natural wonder” on the highway between Konya and Antalya. It is 22 kilometers long and was discovered by a French scientist in 1968.

Director General of the company operating the cave, Biram Chelmli, said that the site began receiving visitors in 2004.

He explained that what distinguishes this cave from others is that “it contains a river and lakes and waterfalls form inside it, especially in the spring with rainwater and melting snow.”

He explained that the cave is estimated to be 230 million years old and is visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists annually.

The Çamlık Caves area in the Dere Büçak district of Konya Province is also one of the favorite destinations for cave enthusiasts.

Palatini Cave is the largest in this region and can be walked around from beginning to end and contains archaeological remains.

The head of the Beyşehir Culture and Tourism Association, Mustafa Buyuk Cavalli, said that the Çamlık caves area includes about 20 caves of different sizes.

He stated that the Palatini Cave includes a 2 km long walking path that would appeal to cave lovers.

He pointed out that the cave contains archaeological remains dating back to the Byzantine and Roman eras, and the stalagmites and stalagmites in it are impressive.

“Solu In” Cave, located in the same area, 500 meters from the town of Çamlik, is also one of the beautiful caves in the state.

It can only be entered by boat because there is water inside it, as it includes waterfalls and a large lake.

The volume of the e-commerce market in Turkey reached 800.7 billion Turkish liras during the year 2022 (the dollar is equivalent to about 19.33 liras), an increase of 109 percent over the previous year.

According to information from the E-Commerce Information System (ETBİS) of the Turkish Ministry of Commerce, there are 548,688 online sellers in Turkey.

The number of online shopping operations increased by 43 percent, reaching 4 billion and 787 million requests, after it was 3 billion and 347 million requests in 2021.

The proportion of e-commerce volume in Turkey’s total trade volume also increased from 17.7 percent to 18.6 percent.

With regard to payment methods in online purchases, the percentage of payment by bank cards amounted to 61 percent of total sales, amounting to 486.7 billion pounds, followed by 36 percent payment by bank transfer, with a value of 287 billion pounds, and 3 percent by means of payment upon receipt at the door, with a value of 27 billion pounds.

Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states in terms of the number of owners of electronic stores, with a rate of 37.7 percent of the total number, followed by Ankara with 8.5 percent, then Izmir with 7.1 percent, Bursa with 4.6 percent, Antalya with 3.4 percent, Konya with 2.4 percent, and Kocaeli with 2. .4 percent.

The percentage of women who own online stores reached 58 percent, and men 42 percent.

Istanbul topped the list of online purchase orders with 36 percent of the total orders, followed by the capital, Ankara, with 9 percent, then Izmir with 6 percent, Bursa and Antalya with 4 percent each, then Kocaeli with 2.5 percent.

The rate of payment by installments reached 15 percent of the total payment transactions, while the prepayment rate reached 85 percent.

Customers preferred to pay by installments in 77 percent of purchases in the home and decoration sector, 34 percent in the electrical appliances sector, 31 percent in the clothing sector, 10 percent in the tourism sector, 15 percent in the accommodation sector, 15 percent in the airlines sector, and 6.5 percent in books and magazines.

Turkish wrestlers have won 134 medals in various international competitions in which they have participated since the beginning of this year.

The Turkish Wrestling Federation said in a statement on Tuesday that the 134 medals were won by the players during the European and world competitions, and most recently in the Islamic Solidarity Games hosted by Konya, central Turkey.
