Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca discussed with World Health Organization officials the possible aid to be sent to the Gaza Strip.

This came in a post by the Turkish Minister on the “X” platform on Wednesday, in which he explained that the Turkish Ministry of Health had begun moving to provide health services in Gaza, and in this regard, it was continuing talks with international health organizations.

He added that after the “heinous attack on the National Baptist Hospital in Gaza,” he made phone calls with many international officials, including senior officials at the World Health Organization.

He stressed that the most prominent point in his talks centered on the fact that “it is not acceptable to target institutions that serve human health under any circumstances or with any justification.”

He pointed out his country’s readiness “to send a floating hospital to the region or establish field hospitals in Gaza or near the Rafah crossing to provide health services to our Palestinian brothers.”

He added that he discussed with the World Health Organization’s Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge, the need to support health services in the region urgently and decisively, expressing Turkey’s readiness to cooperate with it in this regard.

He stressed the historical responsibility of World Health in this regard, adding that “the director of the organization’s regional office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Ahmed Al-Mandhari, received the Turkish views positively during the call.”

On Tuesday, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf Al-Qudra, said that more than 500 Palestinians were killed during an Israeli bombing that targeted the courtyard of the National Arab “Baptist” Hospital in Gaza.

They had fled to the hospital and its surroundings under the weight of warnings and calls from the Israeli army to evacuate their homes.
