Turkey is preparing to send the 9th humanitarian aid ship to relief the residents of Gaza, as it will depart tomorrow, Tuesday, from the port of Mersin in the south of the country.

The humanitarian aid ship that the Turkish Red Crescent will send includes 3,774 tons of food, flour, supplies for children and infants, and sleeping bags.

The ship is scheduled to depart from the port of Mersin tomorrow, Tuesday, with an official ceremony, and will arrive at the Egyptian port of Al-Arish after a journey lasting approximately 40 hours.

The aid will be delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent after being transported from the port of Al-Arish to the Rafah crossing via trucks, to then be delivered to the residents of Gaza.

To date, Turkey has sent, through the Red Crescent and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Administration (AFAD), 39,607 tons of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza on board 13 planes and 8 ships.

Turkey ranked first in the world among the countries sending the most aid to the Gaza Strip, which is subjected to an Israeli war and siege.

Israeli Ministry of Defense data showed on Monday that the aid sent from Turkey to Gaza amounted to 26 percent of the total aid that entered the Strip.

According to the same data, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey shared first place with the same percentage.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came in second place with 15 percent, followed by Qatar with 7 percent.

In addition, Türkiye donated 7 ambulances out of 74 that were allowed to enter the Gaza Strip.

Also, 3,204 sick and wounded people, along with 725 companions, were evacuated from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment abroad, coordinated by Turkey, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.

Turkey continues to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in coordination with Egypt since the start of the Israeli attacks.

On the other hand, Turkey continues its assistance to the sick and wounded who were unable to obtain health care after the Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Many countries of the world sent humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egyptian territory, but Israeli obstacles led to the cessation of most of this aid on the Egyptian side.

Israel also ignores international calls to allow humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border gate with Egypt.

The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza for 6 months has left more than 100,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that have claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

On the eve of Eid al-Fitr, Israel continues the war despite the Security Council issuing an immediate ceasefire resolution, and despite its first appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”

Turkey ranked second in the list of countries sending the most humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in light of the continuing siege and Israeli attacks.

According to data from the “Coordination Unit of Government Activities in the Territories” of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the UAE ranked first with 26 percent of the total aid directed to Gaza, despite Israel continuing to obstruct its entry except in small quantities, followed by Turkey with 23 percent.

Saudi Arabia came in third place with 16 percent, then Qatar with 8 percent.

Since March 26, Turkey has donated 9 ambulances out of 21 that were sent to the sector, taking first place in this regard, followed by Kuwait with 8 ambulances.

It should be noted that Turkey continues to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in coordination with Egypt since the start of the Israeli war on the Strip on October 7, 2023.

Many countries in the world sent humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egyptian territory, but due to Israeli obstacles, most of it is still stuck in Egypt.

Israel restricts the entry of aid into Gaza, which led to a scarcity of food, medicine and fuel supplies and created a famine that began to claim the lives of children and the elderly in the Strip, which is inhabited by about 2.3 million Palestinians, including about two million displaced as a result of the war, and which Israel has besieged for 17 years.

Several international bodies are pressuring Tel Aviv to increase the number of aid arriving into the Gaza Strip through land crossings to provide urgent and urgent life-saving needs for the Palestinians.

Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, according to Palestinian and UN data, which led to its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that his country will not stop until the Palestinians gain their freedom and establish their independent state.

This came during a speech during his participation in a mass gathering of supporters of the “Public Alliance” consisting of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement in the Sancaktepe region of Istanbul.

Erdogan stressed that Turkey is making intensified efforts to increase pressure on Israel after the UN Security Council ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip.

He added: “We will not stop until the Palestinians gain their freedom, regain their occupied lands, and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

He pointed out that yesterday, Thursday, Turkey sent an eighth aid ship to Egypt, carrying 125,000 food parcels with a load of 3,000 tons to deliver them to the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that the unjust government of Israel, which does not recognize the law or sacred things, has been brutally killing brothers in Gaza for nearly 6 months.

President Erdogan pointed out that Turkey has so far sent, via ships and aircraft, more than 40,000 tons of aid to the region.

He stressed that Turkey is doing what is necessary to hold the perpetrators of genocide against children, women, infants and the elderly in Gaza accountable before the law.

He stressed that Turkey, with all its institutions, stands with Palestine, adding: “We are doing everything in our power, what we are able, and what our capabilities allow, and we will continue to do so.”

Erdogan explained that he, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the head of the Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin, the Emergency and Disaster Agency (AFAD), the Red Crescent, endowments, associations, and donors are working and struggling for Palestine and Gaza.

The Turkish Federation of Trade Unions, (HAK-İŞ), announced the arrival of aid provided by the union to the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to a devastating Israeli war.

Union President Mahmoud Arslan pointed out in a statement on Sunday that the (HAK-İŞ) Union was not content with just condemning what happened, and launched a campaign to deliver aid to the people of Gaza who suffer from hunger and are deprived of medicine and various types of humanitarian aid.

He pointed out that in the first phase, they delivered aid worth 5 million liras (about 156 thousand dollars) to the Turkish Red Crescent on December 25, 2023, in order to deliver it to the needy in the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank.

He pointed out that the aid packages, which included food supplies and hygiene supplies, arrived at the port of Al-Arish in Egypt and were delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent through the Rafah crossing.

He expressed their happiness at delivering aid to those in need, especially women and children, noting that they had prepared the second batch of aid.

He explained that 1,500 additional food baskets will be sent to the region to be delivered to Gaza during the month of Ramadan.

Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of victims, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and a humanitarian catastrophe, which led to Israel being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”

The head of the Egyptian Information Service, Diaa Rashwan, announced on Sunday that Cairo had submitted a memorandum to the International Court of Justice.

This is regarding Israel’s crimes in Palestine, and she will plead before the court next Wednesday, February 21.

This came in a statement issued by Rashwan before the court began its headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands, to hold hearings on an advisory opinion.

It was requested by the United Nations General Assembly regarding the legal consequences arising from Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Rashwan said, “Egypt will participate in the advisory opinion requested by the United Nations General Assembly from the International Court of Justice (in January 2023).

This is about Israeli policies and practices in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.”

He stated that “Egypt submitted a memorandum to the court, and will present an oral argument before it on February 21.”

Rashwan also explained that the memorandum includes “confirming the illegality of the Israeli occupation that has lasted more than 75 years in violation of the principles of international humanitarian law.”

As well as the policies of annexing lands, demolishing homes, expelling, deporting and displacing Palestinians in violation of the peremptory rules of public international law.

Including the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people and the prohibition of seizing land through the use of armed force.

The memorandum also includes “rejection of policies of persecution, racial discrimination, and other Israeli practices.”

Which blatantly violates the principles of international humanitarian law and international human rights law,” according to Rashwan.

He stated that the memorandum and the expected Egyptian plea call on the court to confirm “Israel’s responsibility for all of these internationally wrongful acts.”

This necessitates Israel’s immediate withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories, including the city of Jerusalem.”

They also demand “compensation of the Palestinian people for the damages they suffered as a result of these internationally illegitimate policies and practices.”

In addition to calling on all countries of the world and the international community not to recognize any legal effect of Israeli measures and to stop providing support to Israel.

The court will hold its sessions between February 19 and 26, and is scheduled to hear briefings from 52 countries, in addition to the African Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the League of Arab States.

In a similar advisory opinion, the International Court of Justice ruled in 2004 that the construction of the separation wall in the occupied West Bank was illegal.

Israel demanded its removal from all Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem and its suburbs, along with compensation for those affected, but Tel Aviv did not implement what the Palestinian Authority requested.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that, as of Sunday, left “28,985 martyrs and 68,883 injured.”

Most of them are children and women, in addition to thousands of people missing under the rubble, according to the Palestinian authorities.

This came in a meeting held by Intisar Amer (Al-Sisi), wife of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, with the First Lady of Turkey.

She accompanied President Erdogan on his official visit to Egypt on Wednesday.

During the closed meeting, ways to expand aid provided to the Gaza Strip, which is exposed to a devastating Israeli war, and resolve the humanitarian crisis were evaluated.

During the meeting, Erdogan confirmed Turkey’s readiness to temporarily host orphaned children from Gaza until a permanent ceasefire is reached and things return to normal.

She stressed the need to unite the efforts of all countries for the sake of the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to a devastating Israeli war that has left tens of thousands of civilian casualties.

It led Israel to appear before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide against the Palestinians.

Following the visit, Emine Erdogan posted on her account.

I obtained valuable information about the activities carried out by the Foundation, especially with regard to improving the living conditions of women, children and orphans.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that his country will continue “cooperation and solidarity with our Egyptian brothers to stop the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.”

This came during a joint press conference on Wednesday with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, after the bilateral and joint meeting between delegations in Cairo.

He added: “Our priority is to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza without obstacles.”

He stressed that attempts to displace the residents of Gaza from their lands are “absolutely non-existent” and that evacuating the Strip of its residents “is something that cannot be accepted at all.”

He continued: “We will continue cooperation and solidarity with our Egyptian brothers to stop the bloodshed in Gaza.”

Regarding bilateral relations, Erdogan stressed his country’s determination to increase contacts with Egypt “at all levels in order to bring peace and stability to the region.”

He invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Turkey, noting that the visit would be a “new turning point” in relations between the two countries.

The Turkish President stated, “Egypt is making important investments in the defense sector, and I am confident that we will cooperate with it to develop joint projects.”

He continued: “We agreed in our consultations today to raise the trade volume to $15 billion in a short time.”

Erdogan expressed his happiness at being in Cairo again after 12 years, and at answering the invitation of his counterpart Sisi.

Thanking him and everyone for the good reception he and his accompanying delegation received.

He stated that Turkey and Egypt have a common cultural history dating back more than a thousand years, stressing that they seek to raise Turkish-Egyptian relations to the level they deserve.

He pointed out that he sees the same strong will to strengthen bilateral relations on the Egyptian side.

The Turkish President also invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Ankara at the first opportunity to hold a high-level Turkish-Egyptian Strategic Cooperation Council meeting.

He stressed that the two countries are determined to increase investments, which have reached nearly $3 billion, in addition to evaluating opportunities to develop cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas, nuclear and renewable energy.

Erdogan pointed out that they will make efforts to strengthen existing relations in the fields of tourism, education and culture.

He referred to the situation in the Gaza Strip, saying: “Netanyahu’s government continues its policy of occupation, destruction, and massacres in a reckless manner, despite all international reactions.”

He explained that his country has provided more than 34 thousand tons of relief materials to Gaza to date.

Expressing his thanks to the Egyptian authorities for their role in delivering aid, especially the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Ministry of Health, and all relevant institutions.

He pointed out that Turkey, in addition to humanitarian aid, brought more than 700 Palestinians and their companions from Gaza to Turkey via Egypt to receive treatment.

He stated that Turkish experts are working to establish a field hospital in Gaza, and that Turkey is counting on the support of our Egyptian brothers to operate it as quickly as possible.

He stressed that the Netanyahu government should “stay away from transferring the massacres to the city of Rafah, the last refuge where civilians in Gaza have taken refuge.”

He continued: “The international community, the Islamic world, and the Security Council should not allow such madness that could lead to genocide.”
