The Swiss newspaper Blick praised the characteristics of the Turkish electric car “TOGG” and described it as “the Turkish Tesla.”

The only nationally published newspaper in Switzerland said in a report prepared by journalist Wolfgang Gomol that the T10X TOGG car has become a Turkish landmark.

“The electric car impresses with its digital ecosystem, where AI can create radio playlists,” the report said. “But its driving and charging performance are also impressive, as our test drive showed.”

The report pointed out that TOGG was established in 2018 and that it survived the Corona pandemic period without any harm, and stressed that Turkey had made significant investments to develop this brand.

The report included praise for the TOGG car, describing it as “the Turkish Tesla.”

It pointed out that it has a large screen in the cockpit, and its own operating system has been developed, including an application store.

In addition to the praised driving characteristics, the report pointed out that the TOGG’s range reaches 468 km.

The report pointed out that when it comes to recharging, the TOGG can easily keep up with competitors such as “Skoda Eniac” or “Tesla” and in some cases even surpass them.

It stated that the TOGG (T10X) cars are expected to arrive in Germany at the end of the year, but the date of their arrival in Switzerland is unclear.

It also pointed out that it is expected that one million TOGG cars will be on European roads by 2032.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed on Monday the importance of the “Igdir-Nakhchivan” gas pipeline project in terms of strengthening his country’s partnership with Azerbaijan and contributing to the security of energy supplies in Europe.

This came in a press conference held with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev following the laying of the foundation stone for the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline and the signing ceremony of a number of agreements in the Supreme Council (Parliament) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

Erdogan indicated that he proudly sees the development that Nakhchivan has witnessed since his last visit to it in 2008, stressing that the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are unparalleled in the world.

He stressed that they are continuing their efforts to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries in all fields under the slogan “One People, Two States.”

He pointed out that Nakhchivan has great potential in terms of economy, transportation and power lines, adding: “With the establishment of regional transmission lines, we will have the opportunity to fully activate this potential.”

He added: “The importance of the international Middle Corridor between East and West has been better understood as a result of the Corona epidemic and the wars in our region, and on this occasion, the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline will strengthen our partnership with Azerbaijan in the field of energy and will also contribute to the security of energy supplies in Europe.”

He pointed out that the two sides signed today the Kars-Nakhchivan railway project, in addition to agreements in the fields of collective housing and electric energy.

He also stated that, following the press conference, they will open the military maintenance factory that Turkey renovated, indicating that the project will contribute greatly to cooperation between the two sides in defense industries.

President Erdogan touched on the operation carried out by Azerbaijan against terrorism in the Karabakh region recently, explaining that Baku was forced to carry out the operation on its sovereign territory.

He noted that “the completion of the operation in a short time while showing the utmost concern for the rights of civilians is a source of pride.”

He said: “I pray to God for mercy for our brothers who were martyred during the operation, and I condole their relatives and wish a speedy recovery for the injured.”

He added: “I wholeheartedly congratulate the victorious Azerbaijani army for its historic success and humanitarian stance towards civilians.”

He continued: “With the recent victory (the operation against terrorism in Karabakh), new windows of opportunity have opened for comprehensive normalization in the region,” stressing the importance of exploiting this opportunity.

President Erdogan called on Armenia to shake the hand of peace extended to it and take sincere steps to bring peace to the region.

On September 19, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced in a statement the launch of an anti-terrorism operation “with the aim of establishing constitutional order in the Karabakh region.”

One day later, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that representatives of the Armenian population in Karabakh had submitted a request through the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in the region, according to which an agreement was reached for Baku to stop its operation against terrorism in the region and abandon the illegal Armenian armed groups and the Armenian armed forces present in Karabakh. To give up its weapons and evacuate its military sites.

On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani army launched an operation to liberate its occupied territories in Karabakh, and after fierce battles that lasted 44 days, Azerbaijan and Armenia reached a Russian-brokered ceasefire agreement stipulating that Baku would regain control over its occupied territories.

The International Monetary Fund said Thursday that the governments of the countries of the world provided subsidies to consumers worth $ 7 trillion for fossil fuels in 2022, reaching a new record.

The fund indicated in a report that governments supported consumers and companies to mitigate the effects of the global rise in energy prices resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the economic recovery from the Corona epidemic.

The volume of global fuel subsidies around the world rose by 18.6 percent last year from $5.9 trillion in 2021.

The Fund stated that oil, coal and natural gas subsidies cost the equivalent of 7.1 percent of global GDP, which is more than governments spend annually on education (4.3 percent of global income) and about two-thirds of what they spend on health care (10.9 percent).

It continued: “This comes at a time when the world is struggling to limit global warming so that it does not exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius, and parts of Asia, Europe and the United States are suffering from extreme heat.”

The Fund believes that reducing subsidies would reduce air pollution, generate revenue, and contribute significantly to slowing climate change.

The fund’s findings come as the World Meteorological Organization says July was the hottest month on record, underscoring the urgent need to limit human-caused climate change.

According to the report, fossil fuel consumption imposes huge environmental costs, mostly caused by local air pollution and the damage caused by global warming.

The fund believes that if governments eliminate subsidies and impose corrective taxes, fuel prices will rise.. “This would prompt businesses and households to consider environmental costs when making consumption and investment decisions.

It revealed that the result would be a significant reduction in global carbon dioxide emissions, cleaner air, fewer lung and heart diseases, and more fiscal space for governments.

The fund estimated that eliminating explicit and implicit fossil fuel subsidies would prevent 1.6 million premature deaths annually and increase government revenues by about $4.4 trillion.

Morocco’s Office of Exchange (the government agency in charge of foreign trade statistics) said on Wednesday that the country’s imports of Turkish goods rose by 20.5 percent year-on-year in 2022.

The report issued on Wednesday stated that the Kingdom’s imports within the framework of the free trade agreement with Turkey rose to 27.1 billion dirhams ($2.79 billion) in 2022.

In April 2004, Morocco and Turkey signed a free trade agreement between the two countries, and the agreement entered into force in June 2006.

Like many countries in North Africa, Morocco’s merchandise imports from Turkey increased at an accelerated rate during the current millennium, driven by the increase in Turkish merchandise exports and the signing of bilateral trade agreements.

Morocco’s imports from Turkey amounted to 22.5 billion dirhams ($2.3 billion) in 2021, while in the year of Corona (2020) it recorded about 18.33 billion dirhams ($1.87 billion).

With the exception of the exceptional Corona year, Moroccan imports from Turkey have not witnessed any decline since at least 2014, according to historical data issued by the Exchange Office.

And the report added: “Most of Morocco’s trade exchanges for the year 2022 took place with Europe, with a share of 58.8 percent.”

He explained that 27.4 percent of Morocco’s trade exchanges took place with Spain in 2022, with France coming in second with 23.1 percent, then Italy with 7.7 percent and Turkey fourth with 7.2 percent.

On November 21, Moroccan Minister of Trade and Industry Riad Mazour said that his country’s trade relations with Turkey are witnessing a “major transformation” and that many positives have been achieved.

Antalya broke the record for the number of tourists coming to it during the first four months of the year 2019, when it received 1,560,000 and 862 visitors.

According to Yazici, the average number of visitors coming to Antalya via airlines has ranged between 30,000 and 35,000 since the beginning of this year, while this number rises to between 40,000 and 45,000 during weekends.
