The number of foreign tourists coming to Istanbul in the first half of this year increased by 8 percent compared to the same period in 2023, recording more than 8.5 million tourists.
The number of foreign tourists who visited Istanbul from January to the end of June reached 8 million, 562 thousand, and 167 tourists, according to data from the Directorate of Culture and Tourism in the province.
In the first half of last year 2023, Istanbul received 7 million, 903 thousand, and 538 foreign tourists.
The number of foreign tourists coming to Istanbul increased by 658 thousand and 629 people compared to the same period last year.
The state received 1,638,399 foreign tourists last June, with Russian tourists coming in first place with 171,633 people, followed by Americans with 113,000, and Germans with 102,000.
