The number of tourists coming to Istanbul in the first four months of this year recorded an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 5 million 244 thousand and 936 foreign tourists.
This came according to data issued on Sunday by the Directorate of Culture and Tourism in Istanbul.
The data showed that last April, Istanbul received 1,478,218 tourists.
Russians topped the list of most foreign tourists coming to Istanbul in April with 167,824 tourists.
German tourists ranked second with 109,202, followed by Iranians with 80,193.
