Erdogan’s deputy chairs the “Economic Coordination” meeting in Ankara

On Wednesday, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Council to assess the situation in the country and the risks facing the global economy.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Treasury and Finance Noureddin Nebti, Labor and Social Security Wedad Belgin, Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez and Trade Mehmet Muş.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahid Kirichci, Director of Strategy and Budget of the Turkish presidency Ibrahim Şenel and Central Bank President Şehab Kavcioglu.

A statement issued after the meeting stated that the developments in the Turkish economy were discussed and the steps to be taken regarding them, and the risks in the global economy were evaluated during the recent period.

The statement added that the current developments in the field of energy security and food supply, which have gained importance on a global scale recently, were discussed, and the measures planned to be implemented in Turkey during the coming period were evaluated.
