Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated the continent on its celebration of “Africa Day”, which falls on May 25 of each year.

Erdogan wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday: “I congratulate the African continent on the occasion of the founding of the Organization of African Unity and on the occasion of Africa Day, May 25.”
He continued, “I convey my greetings to all my African brothers with whom we have strong historical and cultural ties.”

And “Africa Day” coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the “Organization of African Unity” on May 25, 1963, which later bore the name “African Union” since July 2002.
