Condemnation of the heinous act in Libya by the Turkish Foreign Ministry

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tanju Bilgic has strongly condemned the ugly act targeting the Turkish flag in Tobruk, Libya.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tanju Bilgic made a statement regarding the ugly action targeting the Turkish flag in front of the temporary building of the House of Representatives during budget talks held in Tobruk, Libya.

“We strongly condemn the ugly act against our flag in front of the temporary building of the House of Representatives during the budget talks held on July 5, 2021, in Tobruk, Libya,” the statement read.

“It is clear that the action targets the Turkish-Libyan Brotherhood”

Bilgic stated that as soon as he learned of this heinous act, the Turkish Embassy in Tripoli made the necessary written and oral initiatives before the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Noting that such provocations are not permitted, and necessary measures are required to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

“It is clear that this action targets the Turkish-Libyan brotherhood,” Bilgic said.

This attack on our flag, which represents our independence and our sacred values, will never reach their goal, and the necessary response will come before others, and we express that we will see it from the friendly and brotherly Libyan people.”
