Çavuşoğlu calls on the Organization of Turkish States

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu called on members of the Organization of Turkish States to adopt a “strong future vision.”

This came in an opening speech delivered on Monday during the emergency meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkish States in Istanbul.

Çavuşoğlu added that the Turkish world has become today, as it was in history, at the center of global geopolitics.

He continued, “We (the Turkish world) have a sensitive position linking the east with the west and the north with the south on the energy, trade and transport paths.

He explained that the importance of the Turkish world has increased recently for global stability and prosperity in light of the challenges the world is going through.

And he stressed the need for the Organization of Turkish States to adopt a “strong future vision” in addition to its efforts to obstruct the crises surrounding it.

And he added: “Transforming our region into an island of stability and increasing the prosperity of our peoples is through strengthening our unity, and the way to that is to take the appropriate steps boldly at the right time.”

The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkish States held its last meeting on January 11 last, against the background of the events in Kazakhstan at the time.
